Law Student Krisly Zamor Wins Our 3rd Annual Legal Scholarship for 2016
Krisly’s essay was inspiring and eloquent along with a very strong and impressive academic performance while attending Fordham University School of Law. It is crystal clear that Krisly Zamor is talented, extremely motivated, and wants to be an inspiration to others in the community by becoming an attorney. “In my pursuit of a Juris Doctorate, I yearn to be of service to those who experience a disadvantage similar to mine. With respect to the law, I realized long ago that that disadvantage concerns the majority of America; an average citizen typically comprehends neither the law’s intricate language nor its sometimes complex application — much like me when I first became acquainted with the English language. I follow this course of study in order to merge my developed communication skills with the study of law. My unique experience in America has fostered the passion and insight that I need to serve my community in this respect. The administration of justice plays an integral role in providing stability and hope to every facet of life and community, and I will contribute greatly to the legal field, not in spite of the color of my skin, gender, or socioeconomic status as my friend’s father implied, but because of it.”
Beyond academic studies, Krisly has shown a propensity to help others in many ways including participating in “Elect Her” national initiative addressing the under-representation of women in public service and through the (EOP) Educational Opportunity Program. We would like to congratulate Krisly and wish her the best of luck in the future and we hope that you have a long promising career in the legal field!
