The Spartans have played 172 games at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. Located at 325 W Shaw Ln, East Lansing, MI 48824. One of those games was a 20-19 overtime loss to Notre Dame in 1990, and the stadium has consistently ranked among the Top 25 in the nation for attendance. In 2021, the Spartans averaged 70,135 fans per game, ranking 22nd in the NCAA. For six of its home games in that year, MSU had a combined 420,808 fans come through the turnstiles.

Michigan State University played in Spartan Stadium until the early 1990s, when it was known as Macklin Field. The school’s football team won 70 percent of its games in this stadium. It has since undergone renovations and additions to increase its capacity. The new stadium will host its first home game in the fall of 2021, and it is expected to welcome nearly eight thousand fans. This historic college football stadium will be one of the premier venues in the nation.  It’s a close distance to our office.

While Spartan Stadium is not the largest stadium in the Big Ten Conference, it is spacious and comfortable for fans of the Spartans. In fact, Spartan Stadium seats 60,000 fans. In 2012, the stadium sold 63,831 season tickets. As the city’s largest university, East Lansing is filled with beauty and rich history. And while Spartan Stadium itself is not the only place worth visiting, the Breslin Center and St. Mary Cathedral are two places that are worth a visit.

In the early 1990s, Michigan State University announced plans to expand Macklin Field to a 50,000-seat capacity. The Spartans decided to do this in order to play home-and-home games with Notre Dame, who hadn’t visited East Lansing since 1921. In the meantime, MSC president John Hannah made it official by naming the stadium Macklin Field. But despite the name change, the stadium remains a historic institution for Michigan State University.

At Spartan Stadium East Lansing, Michigan State fans can enjoy a wide variety of sports activities. The Spartan Marching Band plays before and after games and at halftime. Those in the audience will be able to participate in the band’s performance. You’ll hear the Spartans’ chant “Go Green!” when wandering around campus or waiting in line at halftime.

Since it opened in 1923, Spartan Stadium has been the home of Michigan State University’s football team. The Spartans have won 70 percent of their home games at the stadium. In October 2013, Spartan Stadium hosted its 500th home game, against Indiana. Aside from hosting the most memorable games for Spartans, it is home to some of the most impressive sporting events in Michigan State history.

In addition to the football team, Spartan Stadium is a great place to watch college basketball at the Breslin Center. The Spartans have two premium sections for spectators to watch the games. The Sideline Club is located outside the student section before the game and offers in-seat concession services, football programs, and Spartan Fund membership benefits. The Huntington Club is located on the fourth floor of the stadium and has a beautiful bar and good food.
